The Three Biggest Mistakes People Make On A Six Pack Abs Diet

One of the most critical things you must do if you want to get flat abs is to prepare a proper six pack abs diet.  If you aren't watching what you're eating on your diet, the chances of you actually seeing a six pack developing are very slim or unslim, however you want to look at that.

While you may be able to get the outline of a six pack by exercising, it's your food intake on a daily basis that will really bring out maximum definition and make it very clearly obvious that you do in fact have six pack abs.

Here are the three biggest mistakes people make with their six pack abs diet.

Not Eating Enough

The first mistake, contrary to what most people think, is not eating enough.  While you definitely do need to be eating less, if you eat too few calories you're just going to slow your metabolism down and see slower fat loss.

To get six pack abs, vary your calorie intake.  Spend some days in the lower calorie range (10 cals/lb) and a few days a week in a higher calorie range (13-14 cals/lb).  This will keep your metabolism guessing as to what comes next (so it doesn't slow down permanently) and will also make the diet more enjoyable to stick with too.

Neglecting Pre/Post Workout Carbs

Next, you also must make sure you're not omitting pre and post workout carbs. Many people do this because they feel that these carbs will hinder fat loss.  That is not the case.

In fact, it's at this time that the body is most likely to use the carbohydrates you take in, so if anything you should add more to this time. The muscles will suck them right up so they won't be directed towards your fat stores.

Lowering Protein Intake

Finally, mistake number three when creating a six pack abs diet that you want to avoid is lowering your portein intake. This often goes along with the lower calorie intake. Since calories are lower, protein lowers with it.

This is a problem because it just sets you up for lean muscle mass. If anything, you want your protein intake to increase while on a six pack abs diet, since this will protect that muscle mass.

Shoot for 1.3-1.5 grams per pound per day for optimal results.

So be sure you're keeping these factors in mind as you set up your flat abs diet. Taking the time to do so correctly will really pay off in the end, so don't overlook it.
